DONATIONS TO BE VOTED ON AT THE FEB. 23, 2025 CHAPTER MEETING

Greenview Elementary School - Special Ed and Gifted Units

At Greenview Campus, in South Euclid, we believe in creating meaningful experiences that go beyond the classroom. To this end, we are seeking a grant of $1,960 to fund two impactful initiatives:

Special Education Unit Sports Outing:

We aim to provide an unforgettable experience for 40 children from our Special Education Unit by attending a Cleveland Cavaliers or Cleveland Guardians game. For many of these students, this would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to enjoy a live sports event, fostering a sense of inclusion and joy. The general ticket price is $24 per student, totaling $960. Additionally, both sports organizations have generously agreed to donate meals, ensuring a wholesome experience without any extra cost.

Year-End Celebration for Gifted Students:

We also want to honor the exceptional achievements of our Gifted Unit students. These 60 remarkable students, along with their parents, will be recognized at a special year-end celebration. Their dedication to academics and community engagement deserves to be celebrated, and we have secured a caterer to provide a memorable event for $1,000. This celebration will not only acknowledge their hard work but also inspire them to continue striving for excellence.

Supporting these activities would have a profound impact on our students' morale and self-esteem, contributing to their overall development. Your assistance in funding these initiatives would be immensely appreciated and would resonate deeply with our students and their families.

Thank you once again for your incredible support and for considering our request. Your generosity continues to inspire and uplift our entire community.

  Cleveland Kosher Food Pantry

The Cleveland Kosher Food Pantry (KFP) has been a vital part of our community for over 40 years, serving close to 6,000 people each month.

Established by immigrants who understood the importance of helping newcomers, KFP ensures that everyone, regardless of background, has access to nutritious food. This pantry is a partner agency of the Greater Cleveland Food Bank and Hunger Network, receiving essential dry goods and produce for weekly distributions.

What makes KFP unique is its commitment to providing only Kosher food products, which caters to the specific dietary needs of our Jewish community. However, they extend their provisions to all those in need of nutritious food. Donations directly to KFP help cover the costs of kosher staples, additional Jewish holiday foods, and the expenses associated with transporting, storing, and distributing the food.

KFP will soon be moving to the former Schulte Mahon-Murphy Funeral Home at Mayfield & Holmden, further enhancing their ability to serve our diverse community. This move will help them continue their vital work, reflecting South Euclid’s values of diversity, neighborly support, and kindness.

In alignment with our shared mission to support our local community, we are requesting a donation of $2,000 to the Cleveland Kosher Food Pantry. This amount will directly impact their ability to continue their essential work, resonating with the spirit of being a good neighbor and helping those in need.

Thank you for considering this request. Your generosity will make a significant difference and will be deeply appreciated by our entire community.

  Community Partnership on Aging

Community Partnership on Aging was established as the Tri-City Consortium on Aging in 1978 as a cooperative agreement between the cities of LyndhurstSouth Euclid and Highland Heights to meet the needs of older adults and their caregivers/families.

In 2011, Mayfield Heights became a member, necessitating a name change. In 2012, the agency’s name was formally changed to Community Partnership on Aging. In 2012, Mayfield Village joined and most recently, Richmond Heights joined, in 2019.

Our mission promotes independence, a healthy lifestyle, community involvement, and opportunities for personal growth for older adults, as well as support for family caregivers.  This is carried out through planning, coordinating, and providing services that enhance the dignity, security, and overall well-being of the older adults in our communities.

Every day, CPA creates happiness for older adults through the programs and services we provide. Services such as transportation to and from the community centers for lunches and programs, social work and outreach services for resources, Medicare assistance and more, volunteer services and opportunities, the Safe at Home Program and the many programs we offer for older adults of all income levels and demographics are just a few of the examples!
